LOVE is a two-faced mischief, often accompanied by her cheeky little yes-man, DISAPPOINTMENT.
Ketubah –family contracts provides catharsis and proposes solutions to family problems.
I sent a call for participation offering indispensable, albeit hypothetical, services: I would heal wounds, clear up misunderstandings, bring back the dead – essentially, fix any family problem. 17 people responded. Extensive interviews followed.
Using the specific information provided in interviews, I drew up an “official” contract for each participant and the relationship he/she described. The contracts express, in the most concrete and legal terms, the emotional rights and obligations of each party in a complicated family relationship. The contract clauses detail family history, betrayals, promises, and anecdotes. Although only one member of each relationship was interviewed, the contracts seek to reflect the needs of both.
